Heart Walk 2009

It may sound too soon... but... We have started recruiting for our 2009 Heart Walk Team!!
Our team name is once again "American Legion Post #92"
It is never too early to sign up and start collecting for this great fundraising event.
I am proud to say that we raised over $2,000 last year for the American Heart Association to help fight Heart Disease and our name was drawn to win the Pizza Party that was given by O'Scugnizzo's.
We had a good time doing the walk and it is for a great cause.

A Great and Busy Weekend

What a busy weekend we all had.
We had the Legion Booth at Crusin Waterville. I would like to thank ALL the members that participated in helping out with it. It is very important that we let our community know about all the good things that we do and about the resources that may are available to our veterans and members.
The Auxiliary County meeting was held at Chadwicks #1000. Kathy and I attended this meeting. We received more information to pass on to our auxiliary members and we will be sharing it at our next meeting on Wed. Oct. 8th at 7pm, please mark it on your calendar and try to attend.
Our unit auxiliary received the Best Press Book Award for the Department of NY and it is now on display at the post. Also the web site that Barb Atkyns put together went to National, they said they haven't heard anything yet.
What a GREAT Party!! The 2nd annual ALR Hog Roast was great! Everyone had a great time. The food was awesome. If you missed it this year you missed a fabulous time.... there is always next year.
The Gas Card that the auxiliary raffled off went to Jeff Olmsted This was a raffle to raise money to help out with purchasing items and sending them to our adopted troop. We raised $94.00. Thank you for helping us.

Membership

Our quota for membership this year is 60.
I would just like everyone to know that we have 36 members that have paid!! Woo Woo
Let's try to reach 100% soon.
3 of them are New Members. I would like to welcome: Dana Graves, Tanya Zinke and Carla Land.

Please note that if you have already paid your dues disregard the notices that say you need to re-new your dues. They are sent automatically. I got mine yesterday.... Dept. told us that they would not be sending them in September but yet here they are.

Saturday September 20th

Good morning Auxiliary Members. I wanted to let you all know that our Legion will be having a booth at Crusin Waterville. It will be in front of the Big Clock. We will information about our different organizations and membership applications. If you get a chance stop on by or we may be able to use your help to give someone else a break. It will be from about 9am to 3pm.
The Auxiliary will be holding a Raffle for a "Gas Card". Please help us to let others know and purchase a ticket.
We will also be collecting items to send to our Adopted Troop. There will be a drop off box at the booth.

The ALR (Legion Riders) will also be selling tickets for their "Second Annual Hog Roast" for that night. If you haven't purchased your ticket please do so soon, they are limited. Tickets will be available at the booth and the post.
The ALR will also be selling tickets for the Kayak Raffle that will be drawn at the Hog Roast.

The Legion and the SAL will also have information at the booth.
We hope to have someone to represent each organization though out the day.

Have a good one and we hope to see you at the booth or the Hog Roast!

Auxiliary Meeting
