Legion Family Cookbook

Attention American Legion Family!!!
The Auxiliary is working on putting together a Cookbook! We are looking for Recipes for this book. Why not share your favorite recipes with your Legion Family and Friends. We all have those favorite dishes that you, your Mom or Grandma made. If you would like to share them and have them in the book please let Karen Cook, Barb Atkyns or Becky Maggio know and we will be happy to get them into the book for you.

Joint Meeting

There will be a "Joint Meeting" Tuesday, November 9th at 7pm for all CJ Fulmer Members! Please plan on attending the meeting, we will be discussing the Veterans Day Ceremony at Harding Nursing Home and upcoming events at the post.

We had a GREAT Time at the 1st Halloween Get Togther 2010! We danced, we sang, people dressed up. Everyone had fun and looked great! Here are some pictures of our winners in the costume contest....

Travis Tabolt is a SAL member at our post and he received 2nd & 3rd Degree burns in a fire that occurred at the garage he works at. He will be facing many months of rehabilitation and has incurred astronomical medical expenses.

There will be food, music, door prizes a 50/50 and a Chinese auction.

$10.00 for admission.

Here are a couple of pictures that Carolyn sent me from our last ALA County meeting at Helmuth-Ingalls #232 on Feb. 20th. We held an auction to raise money for the ALA Scholarship Fund and we were visited by the ALA 5th District Madame President Charlene Jarvis.
Also a picture of me giving my first speech as 3rd vice president at the Oneida County American Legion Joint Meeting on Feb. 15th at the Clark Mills Legion #26

I was so excited to help build my first snowman. Well woman if you look closely you will see that she has an auxiliary hat on. We had a great time doing it.

Early Bird Party

I would like to thank the SAL, AL and a special thanks to Jim and Mary Younes for their donation of food for our Early Bird Party. We had a great turn out. What a great treat to have a cook out in the middle of winter. Thank you to all who made it possible.

Don't forget to be an Early Bird just make sure that you pay your membership dues by Nov. 11th.

I think the SAL got a new member and i know the ALA gained a new member.. welcome Ann :)

Memeorial Service

It is with great sadness that one of our long standing Auxiliary members, Barbara Ford passed away. Monday night at 7pm the Auxiliary will perform a short memorial service. We would like to ask all Clifford J Fulmer Family Members to join us in honoring this great lady who has done so very much for our post.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Barbara's family.

Vinny Scalise has asked us to put the word out to everyone.....
The Utica Development Center for Veterans is collecting old or unwanted cell phones, used laser ink cartridges, and redeemable bottles and cans. They said they understand that just like everyone else that these are hard economic times, and funds are short, but these are simple ways for the community to help fund their efforts.
"Any help would be greatly appreciated."

We have boxes up at the post, if you would like to bring items up there. As soon as they are full we will deliver it all.

Francis Cowen 1928-2010

We will truley miss you Francis.

Francis was a member of Clifford J. Fulmer American Legion #92 for many years.

He was a paratrooper and Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Members of the legion will be meeting at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home at 7pm.

It's official; DD-214s are NOW Online.
The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) has provided the following website for veterans to gain access to their DD-214s online: http://vetrecs.archives.gov/
This may be particularly helpful when a veteran needs a copy of his DD-214 for employment purposes. NPRC is working to make it easier for veterans with computers and Internet access to obtain copies of documents from their military files. Military veterans and the next of kin of deceased former military members may now use a new online military personnel records system to request documents. Other individuals with a need for documents must still complete the Standard Form 180, which can be downloaded from the online web site. Because the requester will be asked to supply all information essential for NPRC to process the request, delays that normally occur when NPRC has to ask veterans for additional information will be minimized. The new web-based application was designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the records centers mail room and processing time. Please pass this information on to former military personnel you may know and their dependents.
